The MTA is projecting a $634 million deficit by 2022, but a new spending plan calls for $60 billion in additional spending, up from $33 billion. East River Park’s $2.8 million makeover was finished in September after a year of work, but the city is ready to tear it all down in 2020 as part of the $1.45 billion, three-and-half year flood-prevention project. (NY Post)
